My husband chose to go to this doctor about 2 weeks ago for chest pain, dizziness, trouble breathing. They did blood work and EKG and told him to return for the results in a week. During that week of waiting he went to the ER twice and the second time was rushed to the heart hospital. Turns out he had a really bad case of COVID, to the point they thought he was going to have a heart attack. Now that it’s passed and he’s home he still has some COVID symptoms. This doctor did his FMLA paperwork and gave him 6 weeks before returning to work due to the nature of his job (being outside in the heat, lifting heavy objects, driving company vehicles etc). He is feeling better so asked them if he could return to work next week instead. Mind you, his normal days off are Sunday-Tuesday so he basically just asked if they could put that he can return to work Wednesday. And he ASKED them because they are ultimately his health care providers so they should be the ones to say if he is capable or not. They instead cleared him for Today August 25 after he explained he still had some symptoms. So he now has to work tomorrow when he doesn’t feel completely ready. He asked if it could be corrected because he doesn’t think he’ll be ready tomorrow and the manager was being completely rude and cutting him off when he was speaking. She didn’t even let him explain all the symptoms he still has and instead she said “we can’t let you be off of work just because you have a headache”. I couldn’t even believe how someone working in healthcare and a MANAGER was speaking to one of their patients the way she was, her name is Vanessa Cruz. And I know COVID affects everyone differently but he got so sick to the point he was in the hospital for a week. He was on oxygen, his heart was constantly monitored, if that doesn’t tell you how bad it was then I don’t know what does. It doesn’t make sense that they will clear him for 6 weeks then won’t even give him the extra day (tomorrow) all of a sudden and then be so rude about it. And they didn’t check him or ask him questions about how he was feeling or anything so they just wrote todays date. She just kept yelling at him “We already did the paperwork and we’re not gonna change it because we can be investigated.” So I ask what happens if something happens to him at work tomorrow and they investigate and ask for his chart stating that he is medically fit to return? There is NO chart. Because not a single person checked even his vitals, he went to ASK if it was ok for him to return in a week instead of 6 and instead was treated in such a poor way It’s so ridiculous that they’re supposed to be his primary care but are being so uncaring. He will go to work tomorrow and if God forbid anything happens we will see what to do from there but he is definitely not relying on this office for future care.I hope the doctor is made aware of the how the manager talks to her patients and just signs papers without even checking the patients first. According to the manager she said she was relaying everything directly from the doctor herself and she would have the doctor call my husband back. I hope that is not the case because what kind of doctor does this to their patients, and I also hope we do get a call back which is highly unlikely.
