I was waiting for a dining table with my friends in the same plaza, and need help with a pad for emergency. I thought of asking for help to see whether there is a slim chance they have a pad I could borrow. I went in there explained the situation and asked very politely if she could help me check whether they have a pad I could use. But before I could offer to pay or anything else, the front desk lady just said sorry I don’t understand English. For a minute I thought she really didn’t understand English and I explained one more time, she said the same thing, I then said oh ok, maybe I could find a translator online right now could you kindly tell me which language you speak? And she just cut me off the sentence and said “I don’t speak English”. I didn’t feel comfortable after this interaction, she could have just told me that she doesn’t have one or she can’t help or something by actually responding my question instead of playing the game “I don’t understand English”. Not a good experience. Even it was when I was not a customer, after this, no more potential to be one.
