The highlight of our experience was definitely Isabella. She was so helpful before and during our visit, always kind and knowledgeable. It was clear she truly enjoys her job, and that made a positive impression.
However, the rest of the front desk team could use some improvement. I noticed that one of the staff members often yelled across the office to get the attention of his colleagues, which was a bit startling. Tori seemed confused at every answer we gave her after she’d ask us questions, which was tough, especially when we were looking for assistance while in pain.
We arrived with a referral from an orthopedic doctor for a lower back MRI and were informed that the MRI could be done at the facility. Unfortunately, the person handling the MRI process was not personable and mentioned that the approval would take at least 48 hours to be processed and we should go home to wait for her call. This was concerning, especially since the patient was in significant discomfort. After calling the insurance company a while after our conversation, we discovered that the paperwork had not been submitted yet when we called the insurance company with a request to speed up the authorization process.
To ensure the patient could be seen that day, we scheduled a “checkup” appointment costing $78, which felt unnecessary if the MRI process ($162) had gone smoothly from the beginning. Thankfully, after the physician was able to see the patient, (although she rushed through the appointment) the MRI was magically approved during that 10 minute doctor visit, and we could proceed with the MRI.
I want to give a special shoutout to Stephanie on the MRI side. She was incredibly kind and made an effort to fit the patient in before lunch, which alleviated some of the stress of the day. We truly appreciated her thoughtfulness during an otherwise challenging visit. The doctor on the MRI side was very helpful - he assisted the patient onto the MRI machine to help make it process less painful.
Overall, our experience took quite a bit of time, lasting over four hours from start to finish. It truly felt as if they weren’t taking the patients pain seriously and gave us the run around hoping we’d give up.
The three star rating was primarily given because of Isabella and Stephanie.
