For context, I've studied yoga for over 25 years, owned a yoga studio in Maryland, and taught yoga for over 15 years. Moving to the Boston area 3 years ago (post-Covid), I found it very challenging to find a place to practice with others that had excellent instruction and the community vibe I was seeking. After practicing regularly at The Corner Studio, I can recommend this studio without reservation to students of all levels. There are 4 exceptional instructors: Jenna (the owner), Shireen, Nicolene, and Sienna; this does not mean that the other instructors are not good, in fact the reader may prefer other classes! By exceptional, I mean that you are unlikely to find this level of instruction anywhere else in the area. I know because I have tried. You can find some flowing vinyasa class anywhere in the Boston area, especially power yoga, which is usually just yoga-influence exercise class. These 4 teachers offer something different, which is a way to address the needs of the whole person - which does include moving the body in ways that are challenging, sometimes intense - but always in balance. You are always in control of how you practice. There is no franchise, no marketing department, no pictures of yogis in crazy poses about to fall off a cliff trying to get the perfect yoga selfie. These are real people with real bodies practicing authentic yoga without being preachy, without all the pseudo spirituality, and without the blaring lights and music of the gym. They focus on giving their students the best yoga has to offer them in their bodies, in their lives, which requires so much thoughtful preparation in addition to years of teaching experience - which is why The Corner Studio is as close to perfect as it gets.
