I feel compelled to write a review here to share a positive perspective of my own and assure others that you’re in good hands with Dr. Taylor. I first want to acknowledge that everyone’s experience is unique, and I am not discounting anyone else’s positive or negative interactions, this is just a summary of mine. My initial consultation visit didn’t start out great, as I waited over 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment before I was brought back, to wait a bit more. What I learned though was the extra wait was due to Dr. Taylor spending a little more time focusing on a patient’s procedure. While waiting rooms are my least favorite place to sit during my workday, and for every extra minute I sat there, my anxiety level was rising. I would have appreciated some communication or honesty in Dr. Taylor spending a bit more time performing a patient’s procedure. That said, his front office staff is delightful. When I first met Dr. Taylor, he was full of energy and chatty regarding his passion for his work. He shared stories of his education, research, and what skills he’s developed and that he’s been recognized in the industry for his specific processes with tissue grafts. As an introvert, who was nervous about this process, he was leading the conversation as an expert while still answering all my questions and assuring me this process and recovery would be smooth with positive results. Now, I also understand as a practice owner, it’s in his best interest to secure patients, but I never felt forced to make a decision to select him or make a decision that day regarding the procedure. I left that first appointment with a cost estimate (shocking, yes!) and the promise that his staff would try to secure coverage through my dental insurance and would follow up with me when they heard back. Fast forward a few months to procedure day! I was a nervous wreck! Upon walking in, this front office staff was kind and assuring that all would go well, scheduled my follow up appointment, and brought me back right away. Dr. Taylor could sense my nerves and offered me something to ease the pain and my anxiety during the procedure. He was patient with my numbing process, communicating to me clearly what was going on, and when he was going to begin. During the procedure, he was humming along to the music, which I felt was a positive distraction to what was happening in my mouth. Dr. Taylor and his dental assistant performed this procedure mostly nonverbally, and it felt like a ballet of the hands. It was beautifully choreographed, and you could tell they were experts at working together. It was very impressive. I even asked Dr. Taylor to add two extra grafts while in the middle of the procedure to ensure I didn’t have to have a second procedure at a later date. He didn’t skip a beat and kept going! My procedure was originally scheduled for 90 minutes, but with the extra grafts, it took a little bit longer…which brings me back to my first experience. I understood why I had waited and had a completely different perspective on that extra wait time now. It’s due to his care and concern for his patients and his work. I wish I could have explained this to the patients in the waiting room while I was wheeled out to my vehicle. Recovery: 9 tissue grafts, 7 with bone grafts. First couple of days were full of fatigue, not much pain (stopped pain meds on day 2), and no bruising. Soft foods are a MUST. Rest is essential, I was shocked at how much this procedure took out of me as a typically very active person. However, the magic is in his process – the tissue healing process was shockingly beautiful and not at all what I was expecting having seen my mom recover from this procedure a few years earlier by a different doctor. Dr. Taylor’s confidence is key. I want a true expert to perform this type of procedure, and the cost backs up the quality you’re getting. Bottom line, Dr. Taylor is THE ONLY periodontist I will ever use and will recommend everyone in the area to for their peri needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Taylor for several years. I have had multiple procedures. His staff is always very polite & helpful. I recently had a tooth implant done but unfortunately we found out I was allergic to the titanium. It was completely not his his fault at all. It’s very unusual this happens. He has had only 3 patients his entire career that this happened to. Dr. Taylor but was very quick to help me. He was so kind & patient throughout the entire ordeal. I also experience anxiety they were very good with that as well. Also all the other previous procedures (bone graft & gum graft) were done perfectly. I’m so grateful for top notch work. I’m so grateful for him & his staff

Dr. Taylors’s office is always so clean, especially the restrooms and waiting area. All of the staff is caring and always super helpful. Dr. Taylor always makes sure to listen to every patient closely, and always recommends the best treatment for each patient. You can tell Dr. Taylor has passion for what he does and you can see it through his work. The front staff is always so sweet to talk to over the phone, and they help with the whatever I may call about. The assistants in the back always make sure you’re comfortable, and they make you smile. Although sometimes it may not be where you want to be, everyone in the office makes it a great visit! I would definitely recommend seeing doctor if you have any concerns or problems with your teeth or gums!

I drive from McDonough to Gainesville to see Dr. Taylor. He has pulled four of my teeth, done bone graphs, sinus augmentations and implants. He has never hurt me nor have I ever been in pain afterwards. I have always been horrified of the dentist and I can honestly say Dr. Taylor put me at ease on the first visit. He and his staff are the kindest most caring people you could ever meet. The receptionist (Janet) and all his employees are great. When you first walk in the door they put you at ease and treat you like family! I would highly recommend Dr. John B. Taylor. You will not be disappointed!

Dr. Taylor’s office is amazing! The front desk staff is very helpful and makes you feel calm and excited for your appointment. I had Dr. Taylor check on my wisdom tooth that had been aching and causing me pain and he was very helpful at making me feel at ease that nothing was wrong and that they were just turning and gave me recommendations for medicine and at home treatments and the pain is gone and they did turn! The office is a very clean and welcoming environment. would recommend this periodontal office to anyone who needs periodontal care. He is very caring and really puts his heart in his work. I have heard nothing but good reviews from other patients I have spoke too. He has even helped people who have dental phobia not be so scared of having procedures done! The front office staff always answer the phone with cheer and make you feel like they really do want to help and go above and beyond to help whatever you need and are looking for. If you are looking for a smaller family like office this one is perfect.

Dr. Taylor did surgery on my older son several years ago and my wife and I were extremely pleased with the experience and the outcome. When our daughter had a similar biological issue that required surgery, we knew we wanted go to Dr. Taylor. He is excellent, gentle, and great with kids! He always answers our questions and takes as much time as we need. He was able to gain our daughter's confidence right off. She left the office after surgery feeling happy, proud, and smiling. Dr. Taylor has a winning way with kids (& parents). Both of my children have beautiful smiles now thanks to Dr. Taylor!

Today I went to Dr. Taylor for my routine six month periodontal cleaning and check-up and heard him talking with someone who was coming for the first time, which reminded me of my first visit to Dr. Taylor at the insistence of my dentist. That was nearly 10 years ago in February of 2014. I’d heard terrible things about periodontal treatment and was as put off as the woman nearby seemed to be by talk of bone grafts and other surgical interventions to start the process. What I wish was that someone could have told me what I know now – that the original treatment is not fun, but that it strengthened my gums so that I could keep my teeth well into my later years. With regular check-ups and cleanings, and keeping up on my own with daily flossing and stimulation of my gums, along with regular dental check-ups, my teeth have been cleaner and healthier than any other time in my life, and I’m now into the latter part of my 70’s. I used to have cavities regularly, but that is now a rare occurrence. My dentist has noted how my teeth are much better now that I am regularly seeing Dr. Taylor. My visits to Dr. Taylor are something I look forward to not just for the fresh way my mouth feels after cleaning, but also for the friendly conversation with Janet and the other staff, always kind and welcoming. I most appreciate Dr. Taylor’s positive and kind attitude toward me and others, and look forward to updates on his orchards and gardening. When my dentist first sent me to Dr. Taylor for my gums I was resistant, but he insisted, telling me that Dr. Taylor was “the best”. He was right, and his insistence was the best dental advice I’ve ever had.

Incredibly talented and passionate surgeon! I met with him and he put my mind at ease with his very caring attitude. I had never had a bone and gum graft before but he was amazing and I didn’t feel hardly anything, so I’m raving about Dr. Taylor to all my friends and family, he’s helped me so much and I’m so very grateful! The price was great too!

I’ve been treated by Dr. Taylor since I was 14 and I cannot speak highly enough of him and his staff! Dr. Taylor did a great job explaining the treatment and was kind and caring following the procedure. I would recommend this practice over and over again to all!

Dr Taylor is very professional and super friendly!! You can tell he and his staff really care about the patients!! They spend the extra time to make you feel comfortable and to also make sure they answer any questions or concerns!! I highly recommend him to everyone!!
