I was referred to Dr. Pramod’s office by the emergency room for a fractured hand (December 2021). Despite having recent x-rays on a disc, a referral, and proper PPO insurance, it was a nightmare to try and book the initial appointment.
The office staff was rude and unreasonable. Our insurance company couldn’t believe the incident was being handled this way. My insurance had to call and advocate for my medical care, because they were delaying the process unnecessarily. When the office finally agreed to “consider” me as a patient, I drove to the office to drop of my disk of x-ray images, and the entire front desk staff remained unmasked during our encounter. Ultimately, I decided that a medical facility who doesn’t wear BASIC Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during an emergency Covid mask mandate is not using best scientific / evidence based practices to keep their patients safe, and subsequently is not for me.
Finally, on Jan 12, 2022, I was able to get an appointment with an Orthopedist in another county (who was also baffled by my delay in care, lack of masks, and the info I was being provided). At the time of that appointment, I had not received a call back from Dr. Pramod’s office. I had to get new x-rays because the second copy I was forced to pick up were now several weeks old and I still had not been seen.
It is very disappointing to be treated in this manner, while simultaneously trying to work for weeks with a fractured dominant hand, despite providing the office with what they asked for and having sufficient insurance coverage for the services.
I endured additional discomfort and pain by having to remain in the temporary dressings I was provided at the emergency room, because of this office’s poor handling of the situation. I will continue to drive two hours to my new orthopedist, because I won’t patronize this office.
