I had two back teeth removed on 05/13 by the traveling surgical team, and I just have to say—Amina is absolutely amazing. I’ve never trusted a medical professional—nurse, doctor, or dentist—the way I trust her. Her presence made a stressful and painful experience feel manageable. She was calm, kind, attentive, and genuinely cared. Honestly, Dr. Harmon is lucky to have her on his team.
To be honest, if it weren’t for the nurses like Amina, I don’t think many people would return. Dr. Harmon was very transactional—he came in, gloved up, numbed me without a word, left for 30 minutes, and then came back and started pulling teeth without saying a single thing. No “you’re doing great,” no “we’re almost there”—nothing. It felt cold and impersonal. I get that this is one of the few places in Roanoke that accepts Medicaid, and I’m thankful for that, but the bedside manner left a lot to be desired.
Dr. Harmon, if you’re reading this: the haircut and tight leggings don’t prove you started working out. Now you just look… well, lol.
Moral of the story: Amina deserves all the recognition. Her empathy, professionalism, and presence made all the difference. Thank you for having her—she’s the reason people get through experiences like this with dignity.
