I have worked with PK as my physical trainer for over 3 years now on and off. When She started working with me it was in a friend’s home (She didn’t want to exercise alone, and thought I would be a good challenge for PK because of my being disabled and having my own mobility impaired due to tumor damage to the lower spinal area. In fact I often walked with forearm crutches at that time.)
Anyway, PK didn’t “bat an eye” and she frequently showed me alternate moves when I could not complete a movement that she was using. I cannot say enough positive things about PK’s abilities to assist even someone who is mobility challenged to gain strength and movement in ways I thought impossible at the time. She is patient, flexible (emotionally and situationally, in addition to physically,) has a very positive attitude and is a great motivator. She has a wonderful sense of humor and genuinely seems to care about the well-being of her clients. In addition, I have found her fees to be quite reasonable and competitive.
I have rarely had as much fun (when attempting to suck a breath) while putting my body through such tortuous moves. She actually seems to love her work, and she is good at it! In fact I have essentially told her she cannot retire until I am “gone! (😎 Even though I am still relatively young!) Her classes are not only fun, but they appeal to a wide age range. She does not seem to be bothered by having “out of shape” elders join her classes, and she is very responsive to individual needs of those unable to “keep up.” I have never seen her embarrass anyone and in fact she is great at suggesting alternatives for people to try that will still improve muscle tone and movement at a proper level for them individually, especially if she observes several people struggling to do a given stretch or motion that she has us try.
On a personal note, I have been absolutely amazed by how much better my day to day life is since the first time she coached me and due to her patient endurance of me needing a few extra pointers and asking multiple questions (and needing exercises modified often for me to be able to participate.) I do not think that my overall improvement (in moving and walking abilities)would have been possible if I had been working with someone not genuinely interested (or less interested) in my own personal well-being. PK has simply coached me (on and off) through some individual and 2 person sessions from time to time, and in addition I have done her twice weekly 50 minute strength training classes either in class, in person, or via zoom (more or less regularly, but with sporadic attendance at times,) since I first met her at my girlfriend’s house. In addition to all of the prayers and Jesus’ healing in my life, I would say that PK has truly had a profound impact on my life since I met her. I am very grateful for all that she has ‘poured’ into my life!
I want to fully recommend you give PK and Soul Fitness, Hawaii, a chance if you are considering a worthwhile investment of your time, money and energy to improve your overall well-being! I am certain that if you choose to work with PK, you will find her classes and coaching sessions a great investment and will appreciate the returns you reap in your own wellness levels as well as simply having plain old fun while also improving your health!
