The whole experience was great despite one incidence! They made sure that they spoke with you, went over what was happening, and the plan for the appointments. All the staff are amazing and lovely people. During the pandemic, the office is always clean and followed CDC guidelines. They were able to adjust quickly.I really enjoyed being able to do my braces here since I was able understand everything that was happening and made my own decisions. As a mature teenager, I liked how they would work with me directly. Dr. Sheffield is very kind and worked with my sensitive teeth no matter what age you are. They’re always responsive and easy to get in touch simply by one call away.Although I had one incident where I cried during my appointments. That day I was extremely vulnerable due to numerous things going on in my life and being treated roughly did not help. Generally, the staff will ask you, “How was your day?” and you give a response. Usually, I tend to come to my appointment cheerful and optimistic but I responded with “sad”. The staff are very understanding based on the conversation you have with them but I had one staff lady with black long hair and glasses just directly me to my seat without any response. I slightly felt disregard but I assume she had a busy day. Based on how I was treated, it confirm that she was very impatient with me. When I was getting my wired changed, she was really forceful with my teeth. She was shoving the wire into my mouth instead of gradually going in and adjusting the wire which hurt since it kept hitting the back of my jaw and gums causing me to move. I understood when she said, “can you move your chin up” but it was difficult as I tried to endure the pain. I told her it hurt but she said that “everything is the same, nothing should hurt”. Eventually, after constantly being poked in my mouth, I began to tear up and cry as I couldn’t bare the pain anymore and I told her to, give me a minute. She got upset, told another staff, “I can’t do this anymore, she not listening”. I felt I was treated extremely rudely as a 17 year old who was going through so much at the time. I wipe my tears, continue my treatment (which she was slightly more gentle this time), thank her and left. That was my only negative experiences I can never forget. It was sad, hurtful, and shocking coming from a wonderful orthodontics. Fast forward to appointments after, they were really kind and spoke with me. I felt cared for and loved! Despite what happen, Dr. Sheffield and his staff will continue to have a positive word with me and the people I recommend later in the future. I just hope whoever patient that attends in the future are warmly welcome and is not pushed to feelings I’ve felt. The overall work with phenomenal and I’m so happy with my teeth. I love it and I love the support team they have.
