After one and a half years of seeing him, Dr Schmidtz flew into a rage with glaring eyes, intense yelling, and aggressive posturing after I attempted to discuss a subject that was bothering me, and that was conducive to my mental my wellbeing. Already fragile and in a particularly vulnerable state, in my opinion, Dr Schmidtz attempted to force me to submit to his authority. I felt bullied into silence, disrespected, degraded, frightened, and helpless. Proudly, even in such a weakened condition, I was able to resist as my sense of reality and sense of right and wrong remained intact enough. When/if I am able to trust another mental health professional again, I will give EMDR a try, to help alleviate the disorientation and disbelief that that experience caused. Dr Schmidtz has not held himself accountable, offered an apology, or expressed remorse.
