His recommendation saved me from an extensive surgery that wasn’t necessary. My hip responded to treatment and I was normal within two weeks.
When my knee started bothering me, of course, I went back to him…. My savior!! I loved his explanation comparing knee to tires. Tires has guarantee of so many miles, so when the treads get to the point that you need new tire, it’s time for a new knee. He prepared me for the time that I would need the total knee replacement. After a fall on the knee, I was ready for my “new tire”.
His office is finely tuned to your needs. His staff is outstanding. When I agreed to the surgery,
his Surgical Coordinator arranged everything, his medical assistant was happy to answer any questions which alleviated many questions. Prior to the surgical procedure, I attended a 3 hour
orientation which was all encompassing, it prepared me for the surgery, answered all my questions. I felt very comfortable with the process.
After knee surgery, it was necessary to have physical therapy. I had been to locations that
were subpar. His office has On The Move Physical Therapy. The staff is incredible as they taught me so many things that has helped me. Their staff is attentive, friendly and extremely responsive and helpful. Shout out to Jojo, Melissa, Tracey and Jill. I especially appreciated having a pool. After a few weeks passed by, it was a delight to have exercises in the water.
In my opinion, University Orthopedics is a “one stop” office with outstanding friendly employees, offering help, but their coordinated care center is beyond anyone’s expectation.
Any surgical procedure is stressful BUT, the difference between my hip replacements in North Florida versus my knee replacement was like a well-oiled machine. The attention to detail, a staff well trained who care to help you and a talented, professional orthopedic surgeon.
I have seen many orthopedic specialists in my lifetime, but Dr. Berkowitz is exceptional. His knowledge and technical precision is distinguished, impressive. His ability to communicate to you in an easy way to understand and I appreciate how open, easy personality that you resonate toward him. I especially enjoy when he walks in with a big smile, treats you like he has known you forever and puts me at ease. In a simple words, Dr. B is a 5+ star rating for me.
