Quality of care was adequate. This practice doesn’t accept insurance, which was stated up front. They are set up to use health savings/ flex spending account cards. About a week after my visit, my employer’s health saving account management company wanted additional documentation to accompany the bill. I asked the provider to complete a short form—he refused; reiterated that he would not be involved in an insurance claim; and dropped me as a client. Hmmm....I didn’t ask for an insurance claim form. I’m perplexed that a healthcare provider who utilizes a client’s HSA account for payment is unwilling to complete a HSA form to complete a transaction. The provider unwillingness cost me several hundred additional dollars. Now to be fair, my HSA management company can be kinda picky, they cover their bases well in case of an audit. But still, I didn’t expect to hit such a nasty brick wall.
