My interaction lasted about a minute but was so poor that it warranted a review. I have symptoms that are concerning my PCP as well as physicians from an ER visit. Dr. Bustamante walked in, did not take a seat, stated that I’m not overweight (?) and asked if I’ve ever used compression socks. When I stated no, he went on to say that he thinks my symptoms are from having a desk job and that he would write me a prescription for compression socks, and left. He also mentioned that any treatment would entail removal of varicose veins but it would be purely cosmetic — but the bizarre thing about this is that I have no varicose veins! There was zero attempt at differential diagnosis, and it appears that I was dismissed simply because I don’t appear to be overweight (based on his opening comment) thus seemingly it’s assumed that I cannot possibly have anything truly wrong. Also want to mention that my vitals right upon entry were not normal, yet somehow did not seem pertinent?
I’ll be seeking a second opinion and will come back with another review should another proper check-up verify that there is a condition that requires treatment or actual guidance.
