I love Publix and I’ll come back, but Connor, a customer service person, is probably one of the rudest employees I’ve interacted with.
I was running an errand and exchanging Propane (I’ve never done this before) and I proceeded to take my tank by the customer service desk to inquire about how the process goes. While I’m speaking to a different employee, Connor rushes up to me with an aggressive tone stating that I need to get out of the store with that and if I’m exchanging it leave it outside. I responded with OK I didn’t know that, I was just in the middle of asking how it works, he says yeah well you need to go outside and then come back in.
I proceed to follow his instructions, and when I went inside to pay for the new tank, I asked him how would I have known the process if there’s no sign about it? I’m positive I’m not the only person in the world that didn’t know I couldn’t bring that tank inside. Connor decides to say “Well it’s really not my problem” “Maybe something has changed since the last time I was here” with the nastiest tone! I then asked him is this how he talks to people every day? And he said “I could honestly care less” checked me out, gave me the tank then decides to ask if I need his help loading! As if I want to be in his rude presence any longer… ICK!
I was so shocked at how I was handled, and honestly disappointed. I didn’t know how to exchange propane and I now understand the possible hazards that they cause, but there’s no excuse for his behavior. This is not the Publix Way to handle customers.
Connor needs another week of CBT’s on delivering good service.
The store itself is great though.
