I decided to visit Preva after reading glowing reviews and seeing their claims of being “the best.” As someone new to fillers and Botox, I was nervous and wanted to ensure I chose a reputable provider. During my consultation with Michelle, we discussed under-eye treatment, a “refresh” procedure, and Sculptra for the cheeks. I also considered lip filler. I was provided with an invoice that detailed the cost of the selected services, and my appointment was scheduled for about three weeks later.
On the day of the appointment, I arrived for PRF treatment, which required about 30 minutes of prep time for the injections. At no point during this preparation—or at any other time—was I informed that additional filler would be needed. I did not consent to any product beyond what was discussed during my consultation and confirmed again at the start of the appointment.
The injections were excruciatingly painful, and despite Michelle providing laughing gas to ease my discomfort, it barely helped. By the end, I was swollen, in severe pain, and eager to leave. Still slightly out of it from the laughing gas, I didn’t fully register the total when checking out. It wasn’t until I reviewed my credit card statement later that I realized I was charged $1,500 more than the original invoice from my consultation despite electing to not get the lip filler.
When I reached out to Preva for clarification, I was told that it’s difficult to determine how much filler will be needed and that pricing can fluctuate. This explanation felt both unethical and dismissive—injecting additional product without my consent and then charging me for it is unacceptable. This experience not only caused a significant financial strain but left me feeling taken advantage of.
I’ve since sought treatment from another provider in the area, and the difference was night and day. The Sculptra injections were virtually painless, and my new provider confirmed that Preva’s practices were excessive and predatory. In fact, I was told that using a full vial of filler for each eye is far more than necessary.
I deeply regret trusting Preva and urge others to be cautious. Their marketing as “the best” is misleading, and their lack of transparency around pricing and consent is alarming. Please do your research and choose a provider who values honesty and ethical practices. I will never return to Preva and cannot recommend them to anyone.
