If you're my age, you've heard the doctor say "as we get older" about a lot of things. Well. I can tell you from experience that muscle mass does wane and strength training becomes super important. As a life long cardio person, I have not spent a lot of time on weights. So, I knew I had to do this thing but was anxious about it as a "90 pound weakling".
Anna is the best. I ran through some personal training sessions with her to set up a program that I was surprised to find I really loved. Working to care for past injuries (like a torn meniscus) and tapping into my cardio addiction, she gave me a program where I actually look forward to my workouts.
It has only been 8 weeks, but I've already seen results. I have a very sedentary job, and I've noticed my posture has suffered over the years. I feel much "straighter" now and actually was measured taller at a recent checkup. My running pace has increased which I did not expect. I feel stronger and am looking forward to continuing this journey.
I am definitely not the stereotypical gym person. Don't let it scare you away if you are not, either. The individual care and attention that you would not get at the one size fits all big box gym makes Pinnacle a great fit for me. Not that I don't still feel anxious when I go (Any fellow introverts out there?) The staff and other members have been nothing but welcoming.
