Getting to my treatment results: I was nervous about the treatment cause I had to educate myself for several months and then seek a clinician who was out of state. That alone is a lot on any plate. BUT I found the whole staff wonderful and welcoming and competent. Dr. Wortham was too, very professional and a talented clinician. All made me feel welcomed. So soon I believed I was in good hands with total strangers! The exam I felt was thorough and Dr. Wortham was thoughtful in answering my prepared questions and expectations. Dr. Wortham had all my clinical records and we reviewed them together, he took the time to learn about me. I felt even more confident that Dr. Wortham educating himself about me, to proceed with the treatment. He also added information that added further to my understanding of how the procedure will be carried out. As comforted as I was made, you cant imagine how unnerving this whole undertaking was; going it alone and being my own pioneer. My healthcare education helped me tremendously. I find it frightening for a lay person having to make this same decision without the education and skills that I possess!My treatment naturally took time to heal. I weathered this healing period slowly and did not rush myself. Refrained from mowing and most housework. or just took on one thing at a time being careful. The bruising around my abdomen, that I was informed about, developed. I was glad I was told cause it would have been frightening not to expect it and feel something was very wrong. I bruised quite a bit. My shoulder and arm are doing much better, sleeping too. I still need PT to get the tendon back into location so there is still a limit of my usage to prevent further injury. I will be going to Dr. Peterson here in Alaska,who does stem cell therapy for PT. (He only performs marrow stem cell origin). Due to difficulties and lack of finances right now has delayed this treatment. Will pursue ASAP. All in all I am very glad to have taken on this procedure. I believe this treatment option and/or injunction with traditional surgery has tremendous opportunity. It is a shame that some orthopedists in Alaska have not continued their CEUs to at least learn about Stem Cell Therapy. Ignorance is not bliss and a true scientist, healthcare professional, knows science and technology advances. Perhaps Dr. Wortham can do a CEU in Alaska. I ask this cause traveling out of state is for most people an impossibility. Something to think about. This should be for public as well as professionals, get CEU approval and they will come!Thank you for all that you have done. Another thing I need to pursue is a sonogram of my shoulder back at Dr. Peterson's office and evaluate the tendon and joint for post op care. I will have this sent to you.Sincerely,Cecilia Preziose
