Had a fabulous stay for one week at Mikasa at the beginning of April Thursday to Thursday. Thank you Ezzy and Mathew for your kindness and hospitality. Check-in was confusing for us. There is no front desk. The automated system sends you a code via text the day of the booking. My phone was on airplane mode the whole week so no access to texts. Luckily someone let us in. We booked a kitchenette room and were upgraded to room 10 which had a hot spring bath tub outside . We only used it twice as the couple in room 1 persuaded us to use it. I had one of the best sleeps I had in a very long time. The rooms are very clean. Housekeeping does a great job and spends a lot of time in each room. I also saw Ezzy adjust items in a room so they were placed perfectly for the next guests. Someone put a foreign substance in the hot tub while we were there. The management didn't know what it was and are very proactive. The tub was drained, cleaned and refilled. The hot spring water is recycled into to Koi pond so please do not put any harmful substances in the water or in the outside tubs, you will kill the fish. We didn't have a car but Ezzy suggested Instacart. We've never used it before but had groceries delivered twice. The communal kitchen is fantastic. We didn't have to buy any condiments. A Kuerig is available in the morning until 10am. We met a lot of nice people. They really want the atmosphere to be like your backyard. It's whatever you make it to be. It's a magical place and a lot of thought has gone into the concept and property. The guests in room 1 made pasta for us for lunch one day. We met a guest who has been coming from when it first opened and another who spent a lot of time here during covid. There are only 11 rooms but they turn over a lot. There are a lot of people on day passes a few came back twice while we were there including a couple we met at another place last year. The owners are very kind. Thank you for allowing us to put our luggage in the massage room and for letting us stay on the premises after the check out time. It was very hot the day we left, I've never heard of melting make-up but it's true. Can't wait to come back.

VacationFriendsLocation: 4Our room was clean, and very comfortable! We especially enjoyed the private patio with tub 🛀I highly recommend visiting Cabot’s Pueblo Museum. It is just a few minutes away via car, and so worth the visit.The entire area of Desert Hot Springs is economically depressed but the property itself is very safe and secure.They have a wonderful outdoor kitchen area so if you are inclined to cook, you’ll have everything you need already there (except the food itself!). There are several grocery stores just a few miles right down the road (less than 10 minutes drive).Great view
