Read MoreMy journey with Massage Envy was rough from the start. My first massage was good. However the massage therapist sounded like he was sick. He was sniffling and snorting alot. The massage was good but it was uncomfortable because I didnt know if he was using hand sanitizer or anything. Then the sniffles just make the relaxing experience not the best.
However, I understand we get sick and decided to overlook that first experience and sign up for the membership. I also received a 60min coupon that day I guess as a promo for signing up. I am not sure because the lady at the front didn't really explain it.
So I call this location to schedule a couples massage. I was told I needed to call and have my OG store transfer my membership. So I did, and she said everything looked good and I was now able to call the other store and schedule. So again, I call the other store and schedule a couples massage. I told the lady on the phone my husband was going to use my monthly membership massage since you can give them away, and I would use the coupon. Husband is a first responder, works crazy hours, and we never have time together. This was going to be a special surprise for him and we were looking forward to finally getting a day together. I asked over and over again to the lady on the phone if he would get a confirmation text, if so I will put my number as his since its a surprise. She told me over and over he would not get the confirmation text.
Fast forward a couple days before and he gets the confirmation text. So surprise ruined. Then the day of the apt, we were rushing out the door to make it to the apt and I forgot my coupon. Instead of working with us (holding my ID, us grabbing the coupon after the session, temporarily charging the card on file…lots of options) we were charged the 50% no show fee for my apt. My husband had to have the couples massage alone while I wandered the plaza… ALSO, The front desk lady had to call the other location because surprise, the membership was NEVER TRANSFERRED. Instead of spending relaxing, quality time with my first responder husband, I spent it alone in tears.
I will be cancelling the membership. Whats the point of being a member if you are not treated as so?
