Maryom is actually pretty good at what she does, but she does NOT listen and can't seem to admit when she's wrong. She's also too scissor happy.
She is too impatient to listen to what you want. I went for a haircut, showed her the picture and tried multiple times to explain what I wanted. She just said, "I know." and chopped away. She didn't even ask me which way I wanted my hair parted until she had already parted and cut it the wrong way (and then she still had the nerve to ask which way AFTER the fact). This was the second time I attempted to get her to give me this haircut. And she really thought she had done it right.
And then I went for a touch up on semi permanent color one time. She told me it would be $10, but charged me $20 AND she messed up on the color. Some of it was in my bangs and hard to get which was understandable. However, she also missed some of the body of my hair. When I went back for her to fix it, she accused me of flat ironing my hair. She told me that was the reason for the color fade (which I'm pretty sure was a lie she made up to fault me). I explained to her that I did not use a flat iron and instead of admitting she didn't do a good job, she kept telling me I must have used a flat iron. Who calls their client a liar?
She also uses dirty scissors. When I went for the cut, she had just used the same scissors to cut someone else's hair. She was about to cut my hair and I asked her to rinse them off before using them on me. She wiped them on a towel and continued. Disgusting.
She also doesn't take the proper amount of time and precaution to explain to you how treatments work and how long they last. I went for a keratin treatment that she told me lasts 3 months. I naturally have extremely curly hair. 2 years later, the ends of my hair are still straight.
Go for a blow dry if you want, but don't let her cut your hair. And make sure you research the products she uses before she applies them to your hair.
She's good with initial coloring too (on virgin hair), but not for touch ups.
