I started seeing Dr. Lynn in 2016, after several years with an OBGYN who was largely dismissive on my ongoing gynecological problems - namely, that any form of vaginal penetration caused me pain. I'd never had a successful pap smear. But Dr. Lynn was the exact opposite. She really listened when I described the pain, and how it made me feel as a person (defective, worthless). She was very careful during the first exam, and tested different areas, asking me if I felt any pain and to describe the type ("stabbing," "burning," etc.). She diagnosed me with vaginismus and referred me to a wonderful physical therapist to treat it. I underwent therapy, including dilation therapy, for a year and returned to Dr. Lynn, and had my first successful pap smear at 26 years old. Dr. Lynn is wonderful, and the only thing that would make me switch doctors would be if I moved to a different area entirely.
