Later when I tried to get my records, the only notes that remained were from a log that recorded the x-rays. The office assistant wrote them down but she wrote down the wrong date. I called back and this time asked for a copy of the log page as this would be the most accurate information. I was told I had to speak with Mark because he was in charge of all the radiograph records. I was also told by Janine the machine they were using was extremely old. She even laughed at the machine's antiquity. I called back and this time I spoke with Mark who at first denied he had any records of me whatsoever. Finally after I told him the office assistant Tamara had already told me and written down some of my records, Mark admitted he had my records. Mark then read my records over the phone.He had detailed notes about my car accident and the x-rays taken. I asked if I could have a copy, he told me I could not have a copy since so many years had passed. I drove right over to the doctor's office that day. I asked Mark in person for a copy of my records, Mark told me all of my records were now gone and he had no idea where they were. When I told Mark that Janine had told me the x-ray machine was really, Mark looked away and laughed.I thought Mark's behavior was odd. I then made an appointment and spoke with Dr.Schroeder who told me he had received complaints about Mark. Dr. Schroeder told me patients had expressed that they didn't feel comfortable with Mark. Mark also works directly with patients applying electronic stimulation which is applied to muscles. The doctor told me he believed me and apologized for Mark's actions. After all they were my records and I had a right to them. The doctor told me to come back the following week and he would check the log book. All of my records had vanished when the doctor checked. Then Dr. Schroeder told me he would check the storage facility where they keep old records, but he didn't. On my visits trying to get my records, I heard form other employees the dishonesty and odd behavior of Mark.
Two employees described him as creepy and told of personal stories of Mark lying to them.
At this point I questioned Dr. Schroeder as to why he would have a man that he knew to have questionable behavior was handling personal medical records. The doctor never responded. I should have also asked why they were using such old x-ray equipment and why also was Mark handling electronic stimulation therapy on patients.
