I don’t even know where to start…
People will read bad reviews and then still choose to go…so do what you have to do…I know people with bad experiences are typically the ones to leave reviews, so people take them with a grain of salt.
BUT. Let me tell you. I had to find a new dentist because my insurance changed and his office didn’t accept the new one, which totally bummed me out because it was the best dentist I’d ever been to, they went above and beyond to explain everything, were always extremely gentle, and probably too honest about things I didn’t need that would have made them money.
So I found this place. The reviews weren’t this bad back then, and I so badly wish they had been. I felt unwelcome from the second I walked in, and had an awful feeling that I should find somewhere else. But they could do my wisdom teeth removal there, and gave me a finance option, so I sucked it up. The morning of the procedure, the staff were really rude and it made me extremely anxious, causing my blood pressure to skyrocket. They did make me wait before starting and became more empathetic so I’ll give them that. I did have to drive over an hour a few weeks later to the oral surgeon (he travels to different locations) for him to add lidocaine foam and irrigate the wounds. I will say, he is fabulous. I dont have a bad thing to say about him.
I scheduled my FREE teeth cleaning with my dentist, and when I came in, was quoted over $1,000. I said I’m not sure how we got here, but I’d like my free cleaning please. They measured my gums and tried to bully me into paying for laser treatment. I told them there was no way I needed it and that I was uncomfortable with the way they were treating/speaking to me. They assured me it was needed and seemed nicer and offered a payment plan. I scheduled my appointment for a few weeks later, and thankfully forgot about it and didn’t go back.
I got billed for this appointment, they tacked on all kinds of wild things and also charged me $700 for something like teeth cleaning advice or whatever. I raised a huge fit about this and it was suddenly removed weeks later after speaking to my insurance and the office was extremely upset with me about it.
Fast forward to this previous Friday, I called trying to reschedule the appointment, she told me she would put me through to the front desk. She couldn’t get ahold of them. SHOCKER. And said they would call me back. They didn’t. Again, SHOCKER.
So I just had a gut feeling to call my old dentist. THANKFULLY they accept my insurance now, as he retired and passed down his business.
I went today, and from the second I walked in, I felt important and like family. I hadn’t even finished my sentence before they said they were ready to take me back. And I was even early!!
They were gentle per usual, and when I brought up the laser treatment suggestion, they said it didn’t make sense and as a dentist, they couldn’t understand why anyone would suggest that. In fact, told me as long as I continue to brush and floss, I will be fine.
To top it off, I had no copay, the entire thing was covered, and I scheduled my son for an appointment there, which they let me know would also be covered and $0 copay.
DO NOT GO TO LEAGUE CITY SMILES. They truly do not see us as patients, they see us as money. They will input all kinds of codes to insurance and see what sticks. Grimey and shady.
