My family has visited the ER here twice in 2025, and we received timely and compassionate care on both occasions. In the winter, the place was packed with people—young and old—dealing with colds, flu, broken bones (from falls on ice), etc. I was triaged more quickly than expected and then waited about an hour for the next step, which was completely expected. The doctor was excellent, as was the young doctor or nurse who assisted. The total visit lasted between three and four hours. In late spring, I returned with my child, who had a knee injury. The waiting room had only about 20 people and things moved quickly. We were in and out within two hours, including an X-ray and its review. The key to a good ER experience is to be polite and respectful to everyone. This encourages staff to provide caring service. Conversely, cursing or bullying will likely lead to a poor experience. These people are under a lot of pressure and acknowledging this fact goes a long way. Be patient, bring something to read, some water, and be grateful we have such an incredible facility so close by.
