This is a long overdue review for Maria and her team - I cannot recommend them highly enough!
A little background here - I never enjoyed massages because I'm also a bit ticklish. I am in the medical field and have been under chronic stress and sitting with poor posture for several years. In March 2022, I strained my arm doing some stuff around the house and by September, I couldn't even pick up a gallon jug of milk because of a sharp pain in my elbow. I searched around and found that Kneadful Touch specializes in massages for chronic pain. The first massage I had was with Damila, which was the best massage I have ever received - she was able to apply a deeper pressure so that I was not as ticklish, and she could find the areas that were sore/had knots that needed to be worked out. My next massage was with Maria, and it was an interesting combination of stretching and working out the knots. She showed me how I could also try to massage my arm on my own at home between massages, which was also very helpful (of course I'm not as good at is as she is!). Then I went to see Chun, because I was interested in the trigger point therapy.
Chun was upfront that a one time massage was not going to fix things, but we can continue working on it. She hits the trigger points so perfectly to release tension in the muscles that each time I get up from the table I can feel a huge difference in my body's flexibility, comfort, and circulation. I have never had to give her any more information than the general area of my body that is sore/tight, and the deep pressure she applies is exactly what I needed. I have been consistently going to Chun for over a year now, and despite constantly re-building stress and tension from my work each week, and no longer have any pain in my arm. Chun is also fun to talk to, and has such a positive vibe every time I see her. I always look forward to my massages here, and this is a great place to go if you have chronic pain.
Other general, wonderful things about the service/atmosphere:
- they use oil for the massage that is nonirritating for the skin
- hot stones are included as part of the massage (use/discretion of the massage therapist if it's needed), whereas other places may charge extra
- water or relaxing herbal teas are offered at the end of every session
- if you are waiting, they try to let you know that your massage therapist is still with another client (Nuri, who I have never met before, and may not have known that I have been coming here for over a year, addressed me by name and let me know that Chun was still with another client as I was chilling on the nice couch they have in the reception area)
- there are discounts if you are in health care, a student, teacher, or senior (which basically covers a ton of people who are likely to have chronic pain/tense muscles)
- communication is excellent - Maria messaged me ahead of time the one time my massage had to be cancelled when Chun was sick.
- it's easy to book online, a reminder/confirmation is always sent the day prior
- the parking lot generally has ample space to park (although come early if it's a Saturday, as there is also a farmer's market across the street and it can be busy)
- it's always refreshing to come to a place where you can tell that the people working there have passion for what they do!
