I have been going to KHA for a few years and I have had nothing but great experiences with the therapist and psychiatrists I've encountered. However, I will be finding care elsewhere from now on.
Due to some recent financial trouble (lack of self-care affects my financial responsibility negatively, then COVID happened) I was sent to collections for around $150. When I could, I paid off 2/3 of it, and seeing as I was nearly out of my 2 medications, I called the office asking what I needed to do to be seen and get a refill, I told her I would have the remaining paid off prior to any made appts. Luckily, the receptionist said I could go ahead and schedule an appointment.
Then my appointment day comes, I am trying to prepare a couple hours before by filling out the required questionnaires, only to find my account as in active and I can't locate any questionnaires.
I call the office who says my appointment was canceled due to my account being in collections. The account was paid off at the time of the appointment. I was never notified this appointment was canceled. I waited a month without my medications.
I understand there is some blame on myself, I need to be responsible and take initiative, but considering this is a facility to care for mental health, I do not feel cared for. There was no attempt on KHA to communicate anything.
Giving 3 stars because the doctors have been great.
