The Surgical Coordinator/Partner, Ellen, immediately made me feel comfortable, taking care of any initial questions I had before meeting the doctor. She also continued to be a great resource throughout the whole process and is a huge part of the reason I chose Dr. G as my surgeon.
Not only was Dr Gutowski the first and only doctor to really listen to what I wanted, but he also offered views, opinions and methods that are a bit more modern. I found that the other plastic surgeons I spoke to, seemed to treat every procedure the same as one and other, almost cookie cutter, monotonous, and using the same methods that have been around for decades. I loved that Dr. G offered different options and gave clear pros and cons to each. As he is also an educator, I can trust that he is keeping the most up to date methods and offering guidance that makes sense for each individual patient.
Dr. Gutowski’s bedside manner is unbelievable. He even gives patients his cell phone number and was quick to respond the couple times I did need to connect with him outside of business hours.
If there was anything I wish I had known prior to my surgery, it would have been a bit more about the actual ‘going under’ part. This was my first time being completely under and I had no idea what to expect with that. I also wish I had known what I would look like right after surgery - - Seeing the black markings and iodine(?) stains on my skin, while still being in a drug fog was quite shocking. Clearly that is routine, but I was not prepared for that sight as the first look at my new body.
Plastic Surgery is so hush hush that it makes it tough to talk about in the open and leaves you to rely on reviews from strangers that you read on the internet. Even though I am a stranger, I hope to be that resource for someone else by this review. If you are debating doctors, I can assure you that this is your guy.
