I went to get my teeth cleaned and it was great. The doctor told me I needed a root canal and crown. The front desk staff told me my total out of pocket cost with my insurance would be $1,302.00 and that I could pay half now and the rest later. I told my husband the cost and he said that was too high. I called my insurance and they explained my coverage to me and it was clear the dentist was over charging me. My husband and I called and went to the dentist office and told them what the insurance said. They still said the total out of pocket cost would be $1,302.00. I asked for my x-rays and they said they didn't know how to email them. My husband called them and said I was requesting my x-rays. The front desk staff said that was an invasion of privacy even though, I was asking for my own records. They told my husband they would call me to get my email. The dentist office called and I gave them my information. I asked them if they could please call my insurance and get an authorization so I could know excellently what my cost would be. They never called back so I called them. They said they couldn't get a hold of my insurance. I told them I would call them again and have them contact the office. My insurance called them and explained what I'm covered for and said the dental office would call me back. I didn't get a call or an email of my x-rays. My husband called his dentist in San Jose and said that his dentist could see me that evening at 6. I needed my x-rays so I went to the dental office and they had printed my x-rays. I guess they didn't want patients to hear my story. They told me to follow them into the next room. I saw the doctor and he said he wanted to talk to me. I told him I was going to San Jose. I also told him that I shouldn't have to do all this work. I told him that I work in the medical field,I find patient's insurances and bill insurances. I would never over charge a patient or make them do more work than they have to. They gave me a new price which was $455.00 less than their original price. I told them I was going to an other dental office but to keep my appointment for the 30th. I went to my husband's dentist. She took an x-ray for free and told me that we should do a filling instead of a root canal. She said she wanted to save the tooth. She did the filling and something else that would kill the nerve, I can't remember. But, she stayed late to help me. The doctor did mention that if I was still feeling pain that they would have to do a root canal. I asked how much the root canal would cost and it was way less than the previous doctor. She is the best dentist that I have ever had. I loved it!!!!!! If we didn't question Dr. Olimpiada's costs, I would have paid $1,302.00. I am really disappointed with Dr. Olimpiada's office. I wonder how many patients over paid at their office: (
