Receptionist insisted on getting a referral from a doctor to know why I needed to come.
I told her that the optometrist had told me I "needed to visit a neurologist within a week." He had not written any referral for me.
She said, "that's why we need the referral to know why the doctor is sending you."
Thanks a lot, Doc. I wanted to make an appointment with you, I wanted to pay you money to do your job, but you needed a referral from somebody first and I don't have anybody. I guess I'll find a neurologist who is willing to see me without a fax from an optometrist that says "I dunno what's wrong with this guy."
