I was going to The Pain Management Center for over 10 years, following the Nurse Practitioner - Bill (who by the way is AWESOME) from his previous practice . I suffer from multiple chronic pain issues and was compliant in their Medication Management program. I did EVERYTHING I was asked to do by this practice, My urine screens were always spot on, etc... yet, when I showed up for my December 2017 appointment, I was told that this would be my last appointment with their practice and was given a 30 day supply of medication and a list of other area Pain Management Doctors. I was told there was no guarantee that another doctor would take me as a new patient. I was offered no assistance in finding a new physician. Their reason? It was too difficult and time consuming to keep all the DEA records and such on MM patients. In my opinion? They didn't want to get sued for the recent overdose death of another one of their MM patients. It has been nearly 6 months since I was discharged from their practice and I am back to where I was 15 years ago - In pain and unable to live a semi normal life. This is BS. You dont take on long term patients and then suddenly discharge them when the heat is on. Dr. Sackstein is so unethical. They lost over 400 patients from their 2 main offices. We are still seriously considering legal action regarding the overdose death of a family member, who was also a patient. It just seemed so funny that, the month after I shared the CONFIDENTIAL autopsy report with the NP, is when Sackstein decided to stop treating all Medication Management patients. These PM doctors need to stand up for their patients and stop being so scared of losing their medical licenses. Don't even get me started on this place. The ONLY good thing about the place is the NP - Bill Biskup. I truly hope he finds employment at another PM practice, where he is appreciated.
