I was treated poorly by the front desk (pretty unusual), but I'm sharing this review about the provider Kathleen Seneca and the traumatic experience I had. I presented positive for rocky mountain spotted fever (positive labs from Labcorp) and the tick also tested positive as well from a lab test, but I had allergic reactions to the typical two antibiotics. Symptoms were so bad for 6 weeks that I hadn't been able to work the last three weeks before this appointment. She kept saying it's probably not RMSP and likely typhoid and tested me for both, but I was negative for typhoid and RMSP the 2nd time and she told me everything would likely resolve without medication (tick borne illnesses do not resolve on their own). She wouldn't try any other medicines with me and said there is nothing else we can do and for me to let it resolve. Well, it's been another 6 weeks and my symptoms are now 5x worse and I feel like I'm on my deathbed with RMSP. Note, RMSP kills people and is very serious. The state board has called me about the lab results. I have since retested positive for what I went in for yet she said there's nothing we can do. She also wouldn't test me for anything beyond RMSF or typhoid, but I have since come back positive for other things. Facts are: there are loads of things you can do, and prescribe and test me for. IV antibiotics are normal for this diagnosis at this stage.
My primary is getting more creative then this practice. ID Care advertises as specializing in tick and mosquito borne illnesses, but the treatment was harsh, incomprehensive and traumatizing to the patient. My primary doc and neurologist (for this situation) both said the care I got here was terrible and to get a new ID. I'm sharing this because this experience was traumatizing in a time of need.
My next door neighbor has since shared she also came here years ago with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and was treated terribly and forced the doctors hand for treatment. STAY AWAY.
