I was a patient of Dr. Chen for almost 10 years. I rarely needed to go to the doctor, so I never made it a priority to change. However, my last visit to his office was awful. He never had good bedside manner. He always called me by my legal name, not my nickname, which was written on my chart. He never remembered who I was or asked me about my current situation, which has always been a regular practice with other doctors I've had. His wait times were always between 30-60 minutes. This wouldn't have bothered me if he took the time to give me good care. I'd always ask him a lot of questions, but sometimes he would go off on a tangent and wouldn't answer my question. I had to get to the point of asking him yes or no questions just to try to be heard. Still he wouldn't answer. He never made me feel taken care of and when I mentioned to him at our final appointment that I was a new mom whose mother-in-law just passed away suddenly, he didn't seem sympathetic. I told him my time was very limited for myself and that I waiting for an hour to see him which was very difficult for my schedule. Again, he showed little sympathy and simply said other patients need help too. I understand that, but you can at least treat your patients with a softer more respectful manner and value their time. I hope others who see him are treated better than I was.
