My first red flag should have been when it only took two weeks to get into a cardiologist as a new patient.
I was willing to completely ignore the negative google reviews after my first visit because I left the office feeling completely believed about my symptoms. (Bad idea)
The first time I went in, I asked if I had a copay and I was told no there was no copay. The next visit I showed up and I magically had a balance of $25 from the previous visit. It was so frustrating that every time I went they would charge me for the previous visit instead of charging me for the visit I was actually there for.
The doctor ordered only two tests, an echo and a 2-week heart monitor. I did ask for a stress test and an EP study but he felt neither one was necessary.
During the 2 week monitoring I had two instances of minor SVT that landed me in the ER and as a result my work put me on medical leave until I was cleared by my cardiologist. Unfortunately this meant waiting for the 2 weeks of monitoring to complete and calling to ask for an earlier follow-up appointment so I could return to work. I attempted to email them my medical leave paperwork to the email they provided, but it was not submitted on time due to them providing me an email that only is checked once weekly and claiming that they never received the email.
When I went to change my monitor I found I had a severe allergic reaction to the adhesive underneath and called to find out if I should remove the monitor altogether or continue wearing it for the remaining four days of monitoring, I was left on hold for over half an hour and could not actually get in touch with a nurse or anyone other than the front desk staff. I was told I would be called back but did not hear from anyone until I called again a half hour before they closed for the day.
The doctor gave me a diagnosis of Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia but did not give me any information on how to manage this diagnosis, he advised me it normally would be medicated but he decided against medication for my symptoms. I went home and googled and joined facebook groups for more information and support. Through my research I found that this diagnosis he gave me is one of exclusion and requires a battery of tests including a stress test and an EP study both of which the doctor refused to perform saying they were unnecessary.
Most recently I was meant to go for a colonscopy and had gone through the entire prep which is physically, mentally, and emotionally taxing on the body only to get a call from the surgery center cancelling the procedure because they had spent the entire day trying to get the proper documents from this office for cardiac clearance. I spent the entire day absolutely wrecking my body and for nothing, all because this doctor's office cannot get anything together.
Between being gaslit about symptoms/ER vists, given a fake diagnosis, the issues with the copays, not being able to properly reach staff when you have questions or emergencies, and their inability to perform basic office duties that end up being detrimental to my health I honestly am surprised this office is still in business. Trust me when I say this doctor deserves a 0 star review and there's a reason you can get in to see him so quickly.
