Read MoreMy experience with Dr. Haq went from good to horrible in less than 30 days. Let me say that my mother, who is 80 years old, is actually Dr. Haq’s patient. Because of my mother’s declined in health, I would often accompany her to her doctor’s visit. At first, the office appeared to be courteous and understanding. My mother has high blood pressure and has challenges with maintaining her BP. Dr. Haq was again, initially warm and sympathetic, even to the point where I was able to reach her by text over the weekend when my mother’s BP ran extremely high. But in January 2018, my mother experienced a spike in her BP once again. We placed a call to the office and were told to come in the next day for an appointment. We did and Dr. Haq was out on vacation and so my mother was seen by another doctor. The doctor gave my problem a dosage to control her pressure and after 20 minutes, her pressure still did not come down. We waited another 15 minutes and her pressure still did not come down. So the doctor said that if her pressure did not come down, then I will have to take my mother to the emergency room. This of course terrifies my mother. So we said that we would wait another 15 minutes to see if the pressure decreased. Meanwhile the doctor said that he will prescribe another medication for my mother to take when she gets home. So the receptionist, her name is Javia, brought the prescription in and gave it to my mother. I politely asked her if she don’t mind calling it in, so that it will be ready by the time we get to the pharmacy. Javia’s response was “The pharmacy is right next door, why don’t you just walk over there yourself.” I responded that I was here with my mother for her comfort, so again, if you don’t mind, please call in the prescription and I will pick it up once we leave here. Again Javia responded, “Well you are not doing anything but sitting there, you can easily walk over to the pharmacy and put it in.” Then she went on to tell me that it was the end of the day and she had already shutdown her computer. Which confused me because the computer and making a telephone call are two separate things. So after an exchange of words, the nurse that was present called in the prescription.
Now one month later, my mother had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Haq. I was not able to accompany my mother on this visit, but my mother came back home and shared with me that me that Dr. Haq instructed her (my mother) to get a new doctor because she was informed that her son was disrespectful to her receptionist. So when does making a routine request to have a prescription called in to the pharmacy considered disrespectful? On top of that, on that same visit, Dr. Haq made some changes to my mother’s prescription; she added two and subtracted one. Prior to leaving the office, my mother stopped by the receptionist and asked the same receptionist if she wouldn’t mind writing down the names of the two new prescriptions the doctor added and the name of the one to delete. The receptionist, yes Javia told my mother that she should have been paying attention to the doctor as if it is another unfair request for an 80-year-old patient to request to have the new prescription written down. Wow!!!! Needless to say that we took Dr. Haq’s advice and found a new doctor. There is something about Service that is inherently missing from this doctor’s office. Please be aware!!!!
Think twice before sending your mother/father to this office.
