Let me begin by saying I don't like the dentist, I never did. I used to work next to a kids dentistry, although the office looked so kid friendly, I would hear the screams of kids through the walls being strapped down, it almost sounded like hell. Sorry kid, you drew the short straw and now, you're going straight to the dentist! In short summary as to why, I feel like I'm being tortured and I have to pay large sums of money to be tortured. Who wants that? Yes, I realize the technical skill and effort required to do his or her work and that dentists truly are trying to help prevent future problems for the patient, only from a practical, consumer point of view, I'm sharing that's what it's like.
The staff were all mindful of being friendly and professional, whether trained, real or fake, it doesn't matter much to me as to the origin or fidelity of the professionalism, only that they were. Everyone has sometimes a difficult personality, moods and/or problems in life or at work, but none of them showed it and patients notice.
Originally diagnosed by Dr. Kate on 2/29 and scheduled to fix a broken filling on same day so I wouldn't have to come see the dentist twice. She reminded me of a kinder teacher, great smile (like the way a dentist has), made me feel for a fleeting moment, she wouldn't “torture“ anyone but reality in my mind quickly set back in, she's a dentist! (she shared her mom was a dentist, which I think is just fab) Unfortunately I had to face the dread of waiting to be scheduled to come see the dentist again because of the time constraint of the schedule, this time with Dr Middleton because the procedure was more extensive to have less possibility of the filling from breaking in the future and required at least 2 hours. The 5th of March was the soonest appointment they had and she didn't work that day.
On drill day, I met up with Dr Middleton who was also pleasant and friendly as Dr Kate, examined the teeth again and decided it was best to refill and re-contour the problem tooth so hopefully the filling will last longer and refilled another tooth the same day. He used a co2 laser that was the quickest and least painful drilling I've ever experienced from a dentist and made the drilling portion feel like only a few couple minutes. After the drilling, the rest was pretty easy. Although I can't say I love to visit the dentist now, Dr Middleton and staff made the unpleasant process as least unpleasant as possible. If you're a guy like me, who has an aversion to dentists, but you need to see one, I would recommend Dr. Middleton and his staff. His technical skill, explanation to the client, his professional demeanor, dental equipment, and personnel, all exudes confidence from the patient.
