I found myself in a position that I never thought about as a younger person. I needed dentures.
What could have been an irritating, frustrating process, has been quite palatable. I’m grateful for that, and so is my wife.
I found myself in need of dentures, but had no clue how to start the process, or what to look for. What I did know was that I wanted to avoid the corporate vibe, which is so prevalent today. I was looking for one stop shopping, a customer first approach, which for me seemed a bit elusive to find. We live in rural SW Missouri, an equal distance from Springfield, MO, Joplin,MO and Rogers, Arkansas. It took me a couple of months to find what I was looking for.
Then it was time for me to do my homework, and I started by reading reviews for all the dental practices in Springfield, Joplin, and Rogers. I made a list of those that had reviews that I liked, and then, a few days later, looked at them with more scrutiny. What stuck out in my mind was that I didn’t see much of what I viewed as favorable options. I wanted a place that takes you through the process from start to finish, no 2nd parties involved. I found a lot of places that did dentures among many other things. I also found a lot of places that do dentures, but to me had a very corporate vibe, and the follow through didn’t seem very flattering according to the reviews.
I had noticed Fisher Denture & Dental a couple of times as I was looking through reviews, found it interesting, but didn’t do a deep dive. Then one evening, I really gave them a serious look. I was convinced that I’d found exactly what I was looking for. A place that takes you through the whole process from start to finish, and dentures is all they do. That scenario seemed more destined for a happy outcome. And I thought, since they take care of you from start to finish there’s no passing the buck if there’s an issue that needs to be resolved.
So I went in for my initial consultation, and I liked everything from the get go. Dr. Fisher was very detail oriented, and I felt like his analysis went deeper than the two places I’d visited prior to his consultation.
Another thing that impressed me, was that his staff was very helpful both over the phone and in person. The other two places I’d visited previously, basically left me on my own, and tried to get me to sign on the dotted line. At Fisher it was different in a very good way.
So they did the impressions for the dentures around the 1st of August. I had the extractions 2 weeks later, and received my dentures the same day. I told his long time assistant that I was scheduled three days later to give a 30 minute talk to a group of 100 people, and asked her if she thought I should reschedule. She said she thought I’d be up for it. It went fine. I was happy that I was able to focus on the material under consideration, and the clarity of my expression didn’t seem to be an issue.
Here I am, 2 months later, and yes, I’m very happy with Dr. Fisher’s clinic. Two friends of our’s have noticed how I’ve basically gotten through the process without issue, have asked for Dr. Fisher’s information, and have made appointments. As for us, we feel confident enough with my progress, that we’ve finalized our plans for a trip to Asia. I can now quote BUZZ LIGHTYEAR, and say “TO INFINITY AND BEYOND.” Previously, I felt like a dog with his tail between his legs. A big thank you to Dr. Fisher and his staff. Thanks. Tom
P.S. I failed to mention that I was introduced to CARE CREDIT, a no interest credit card for medical expenses. So I didn’t have to come up with any money up front. I have it set up on autopay over 24 months, at which point my balance will be $0. Better care than I expected. Less money than I expected.
