However, the new Dentist that bought the place seemed like a nice guy after I had just met him for the first time on June 17/3025. His hygenist "Raina" however was completely different story.
Not sure how she was hired or who hired her but she was so unprofessional, I went in for a routine cleaning and she did her routine cleaning and X -Rays and said dentist would be in soon. I met him and all was good Hygenist asked if I wanted to sched my 6 month cleaning, I told her I was t sure due to my schedule but decided to go ahead and sched it and if r/s needed to be done, I would do that. She scheduled it, and then I asked her if it was with her or someone else. She said someone else unless I wanted her, in which it honestly made no difference to me. I got out of the chair and was looking at the computer for a date and noticed she had written on a sticky note in big bold letters my name at the top which said "How unfriendly I was! I called her on it and asked why she would even write something about me like that. She started laughing and said "Yea, its true. I aid I justmet you a hour ago, what do you expect?? Did you want me to go out for dinner or lunch with you?? Then she said "Oh sorry", well sorry didn't cut with me, I was very angry she would have the nerve to do something like that. I thought (and told the dentist) if your going to write something negative about someone, make sure they are not around to see what you decided to take upon yourself to write. After all, I am not there to "Make friends with you", I am not there to engage in long chit chat and neither are you. You provide a service and I am there to get that service, nothing more, nothing less. So the next time a "Patient" comes in and has nothing to say, dont just "Assume" they are "Unfriendly" bc your making a fool of yourself.
I personally feel you should be removed but thats not my business but I certainly open your nicer to the next person than you were to me,as this new Dentist won't be in practice very long if you keep saying bad things about people, you might just piss off the wrong one and do something more drastic than just put a comment on Soc Med.
I definitly without hesitation wouldn't recommend this Dental Practice, even the front desk staff couldn't care less whether you stay or leave. Very sad.
Update as of 8/22/25: I contacted Delta Dental re: The extremely poor treatment I got from the new staff and front office girls at Family First Dental in Troy. They sent me a letter regarding the complaint I gave them. The letter stated: Dental Dental Reviewed my Grievence re: Family First Dental. It stated the office called me to apoligize for the inappropriate and rude treatment I received from them. Well, let me tell you, this never happened. Nobody, Dr Dashawn OR ANYONE from his office EVER CALLED, TRIED TO CALL OR LEFT ME A MESSAGE RE: this incident. They lied to save their butt, well it won't work with me. I'll never go back there and I am doing everything in my power to not just write a bad review letting people know this is a terrible place, they treat you like dirt, do not have a handicapped entrance (You have to climb stairs to get to the 2nd floor, no elevator). I just want everyone to know that they lied to Delta Dental, NOBODY EVER TRIED TO CALL ME TO APOLIGIZE. So, if your smart and have a brain, I definitly without a doubt would never step foot in the place. They lie, are extremely rude and do not care even a little bit about their patients, only about the money they get from the ins co or patients. I'm not sure if anyone else has had issues with the new staff, but to save yourself a great deal of aggravation and grief, stay away from Family First Dental on Livernois in Troy. It is definitly not the same since Dr Leo left, its horrible
