Read MoreAlmost 2 years ago I moved from San Diego to Colorado with my husband to be close because my husband had become very aggressive because of his Alzheimer’s. Leaving behind my home and 40 years of life in San Diego, saying good-bye to all my dearest friends who were like family to me, having to put down my 17-year-old yorkie terrier and leaving everything familiar and dear to me that I had loved for so many years was devastating.
And yet the worst was still to come. 3 months after we moved to Colorado my husband, who I loved and adored so very much, passed away and 2 weeks before that, my best friend died of cancer.
There has been much loss and it is still very hard. But I am incredibly thankful I found the Family Care Center and am blessed and so very thankful for my Counsellor, Robin Williams at Family Care Center. She is extremely caring, encouraging and all around wonderful and is helping me to adjust to being single again and to starting my life over at age 66, helping me through the grieving, giving me hope, teaching me how to cope and learn to be courageous and reach out and try new things, make new acquaintances that slowly will build into friendships.
