From my first visit with her, through surgery and a one week stay in the hospital and post surgery appointment, she has been so "present" to inform me of all that was happening and what all outcomes would be. She visited almost daily while I was in the hospital to follow up with my progress and health. She was so informative and always answered all of my many questions/concerns without rushing out of the door.
I was diagnosed with a GIST tumor, sitting on top of my stomach. It was found, unexpectedly, when I was in the hospital for DVT's and PE's. My situation was complicated since the blood clots needed to be resolved before surgery was done to remove the GIST tumor. She coordinated with the Hematologist and together they worked out a plan best suited to my situation. Dr. Byerly really "listened" and worked with my schedule to accommodate all that was going on. Her staff always returned my calls (even with some calls just answering questions about concerns and fears!).
I can't thank Dr. Byerly enough for her knowledge, skills, expertise and wonderful bedside manner. I could go on and on........I would highly recommend Dr. Byerly for any of the specialties in her skilled, surgical area. Her skills/knowledge saved my life at a very critical time. She saved me from excess stress, also, by her understanding and calm demeanor. I am very grateful to her and would highly recommend her to anyone undergoing treatment/surgery! Thank you hardly sums up what Dr. Byerly has done for me.
