I want to preface this by saying I read the previous reviews the day of my appointment and got SO SCARED so had to come back to leave my honest review.
I had an appointment at this office about two weeks ago, and was very nervous after reading other reviews saying how rude the staff and doctor were but my experience was VERY different! (To note: I am a white female, 29 yo, as I understand biases also impact how we are treated by medical professionals). While in office, there was a diverse office staff and patients as the Dr speaks 4 or 5 languages fluently so can help a wide population so I am not sure what other cultural or linguistic experiences may be like.
The day before my appointment I got a call from the office staff and they were incredibly friendly and helpful making sure I was all set and prepared for my appointment (made sure they had the proper referral, that I knew to bring a mask and wait in the car, made sure I did not have questions etc).
The day of my appointment I arrived and could not remember if I should come in at the exact start time of my appointment so called and the second woman I spoke with was also extremely friendly. I went in and the office staff was quite pleasant!
I did have to wait- be prepared to wait 30 or more minutes once arriving at the office. I filled out some paperwork and waited. After 30 minutes, the doctor called my name and was immediately friendly, made a lighthearted comment about my name being Italian and took me back to his office. I was particularly nervous after reading reviews that people felt they were made to feel dumb for asking questions and his horrible bedside manner so I purposefully made sure to ask many questions about why I needed to warm my hands under water before the procedure, what the procedure did, asked him about how he got started in the profession and he also was very friendly and asked me about what I did for work etc.
I had to remove my shirt ONLY (so kept bra and shorts and shoes on) and they had a white paper apron for me to wear in place of the shirt that I did not need to remove at all during the procedure. He had me run my cold hand (what we were testing) under warm water before the procedure, and then had me lay down for the tests. The tests themselves were quick!
The procedures itself are also not as bad as I had been made to believe based on reviews (I am the type to watch youtube reviews of peoples experiences with procedures to prepare myself) and many said how painful the procedures were but they were not painful, more slightly uncomfortable. I do not consider myself as having a high pain tolerance I would say it's "average". The test where they sent electrical shocks through your arm is a little weird and uncomfortable feeling, like a little more than when you accidentally shock yourself touching a light switch after sliding across carpet but a little less ouchy and more just surprising. no pain for me. The needle part was painless as it is a thin acupuncture like needle.
I was so shocked by how friendly and warm he was considering the previous reviews! Perhaps the staff are aware and he is making a conscious effort to change his bedside manner? I was completely comfortable the entire time, he was friendly and patient with many smiles. Reassured me during the procedure. Stayed to answer any questions I had before letting me know I was all set to go.
All in all, it was a very good experience and I would recommend this office to others. HOWEVER- I will note that I have yet to hear from the office about paying for my visit, and in other reviews they have been horrible with sending people to collections so we will see and I will update my review once I have been able to see how that goes.
