I had a bad experience here with a lack of transparency regarding insurance coverage. Which is unfortunate, because I had a great experience with my doctor and hygienist, and if it wasn't for this issue I'd be happily returning for my next cleaning.
I was told that "they take my insurance" only to find out that my insurance is, in fact, out of network, and the coverage was VERY partial, leaving me on the hook for over $300.
It should be protocol to let patients know what to expect regarding costs and coverage, BEFORE being seen by the dentist, to avoid such a surprise and financial burden. I've never had this experience before at a dentist and it left me feeling exploited. To be fair, I should have insisted on transparency and a clear breakdown of the insurance info myself. I was too trusting I suppose - lesson learned.
