This morning I received an appointment reminder to which I do not recall making the appointment. I’ve never been treated so rudely by a receptionist/Med Assistant.
When I questioned how this appointment came to be, I was told “you figure it out.” And was hung up on. I called back, the same person hung up again. Called again, asked to speak to a supervisor, the person that answered stated she is the office a manger. I brought to her attention that the receptionist was extremely rude and hung up on me twice, she also was dismissive of the situation.
I used to work at Englewood Hospital Nurses Dept. I helped patients receive Home-health aid, created Patient In-Take forms for all Intensive Care Units, Nurses schedules, Insurance, Vacation requests, Per Diem schedules, etc. There’s an Ethic Code that EVERY person in the medical field needs to follow. “Do no harm.” This also means, do not be rude. Patients calling in or being seen are most likely going through a tough time, especially if there is a medical situation going on.
I believe that there should be Staff meetings held by the Attending Doctor to teach their employees to be more empathetic and Nice to their patients.
