However, I reasoned that perhaps her demeanor was just her style, and as long as she effectively treated my back issues, I was willing to overlook it. I shared my concerns with her, mentioning that while my pelvis was occasionally painful, my back was a constant source of discomfort, rating it at a 6 out of 10. Dr. Priyanka decided to order an MRI and blood tests.
The next day, the imaging center called to schedule a pelvis MRI, which surprised me. I decided to contact Dr. Priyanka's office to ensure they included the areas I specifically mentioned: thoracic and lumbar. After explaining the situation, they responded, but unfortunately, they only included orders for the lumbar and pelvis, omitting the thoracic area.
Feeling frustrated, I emphasized the importance of addressing the thoracic pain, as it was the primary reason for my visit and severely impacting my daily life. However, the office staff insisted that adding the thoracic area would be excessive. I proposed only scanning the back—thoracic and lumbar—to focus on the main issue, leaving the pelvis for another time since it wasn't currently causing significant discomfort. Surprisingly, they refused without consulting Dr. Priyanka.
Feeling dismissed and disrespected, I reiterated my request, explaining that my pelvic pain was sporadic, whereas my back pain was unbearable. Unfortunately, the response was laughter, which left me feeling belittled. In that moment, I decided to seek care elsewhere.
It's disheartening to encounter such disregard and insensitivity, especially when seeking relief from pain. Dr. Priyanka's demeanor and administrative oversight could have been overlooked, but the lack of compassion during a vulnerable moment is truly disappointing and unacceptable.
