I'm dealing with a bill that's been lingering for close to a year. I CANNOT get in touch with this Dr or his office.
Here are the details:
I live out of state and my parents suffer from dementia. I went to visit my parents and saw a bill from Bluegrass Family and Extended Care in Summer of 2023. After dozens of attempts to contact anyone there, I finally got through and asked "I have this bill I found on my mother's bed. What service was provided?"
I guess I had been connected to a call service, because they could not provide any answer.
After weeks of trying to find out what service was provided, I gave up. This is after calling their number for days on end at various hours. If I got through to anybody, I would ask these questions (written down, because I asked them so often)
I will gladly pay the bill if you are able to tell me what service you provide. Do you:
Wash cars?
Do nails?
Make beds?
Refinish wood?
Assist the elderly or infirm in any manner?
Serve coffee?
Find out that a resident of a memory care facility is within driving distance and drop a bill on their beds?"
I have NEVER gotten a response. If I were a true doctor, I would be embarrassed to know someone is asking these questions. I am of the opinion that Dr. Richard has discovered a way to make money by providing no service.
I've spent nearly a year trying to ONLY determine what kind of service was provided. All Dr. Richard's staff has to tell me is "It's medical" and I'll pay the bill. As it stands, the one channel I have to contact Dr. Richard's office appears to be a cell phone with a full inbox, and no calling service has any idea what this guy does. Electrician? Plumber? Engineer? Doctor? Janitor? Who knows?!? Meanwhile, I have bills outstanding.
As an aside, I had a general practitioner doctor who would prescribe medication for me no matter what I went to see him for. I might be overly sensitive to what I call "turnstile doctors", so my opinion might be a little over the top. It's been nearly a year of just trying to find out why I have a bill.
