I went to Dr. Reed when I was 15 years old. I had no one, and I really believed in him. I had just been moved from my home in Texas and had lost all my friends. I was going through a lot. My parents decided to take me to him so I would have someone that could help me through this. That was my biggest mistake... He screwed me up.
I remember he kept asking me about my childhood, my family life, etc. He had asked me if I ever had imaginary growing up; I said yes. (what kid doesn't!?) He immediately told me I suffered from delusions and suffered a psychotic disorder and put me on medication for it. I was upset one day because my dad and I had an argument and he told me I had PTSD and put me on medication for it. He put me on several opiods and I was addicted until I was 21. He told me I was bipolar, he told me I suffered from severe social anxiety. It was one thing after another; he told me I had everything in the book. He even threw out schizophrenia for a while. He made me feel like I was a basket case. Turns out I have nothing wrong with me, I was just an upset teenager that had just been moved to another state and lost her friends.
I do not know if he has done this to anyone else, but I just want it to be known that he screwed me up, and parents need to be careful.
