The endocrinologist before him didn't want to seem to do more than prescribe testosterone and thyroid replacement. I knew there were some other hormonal issues present because of my symptoms. When I first saw Dr. Rico my testosterone was still low even on testosterone replacement. And the reason was is because it was due to a pituitary gland issue, low Luetinizing Hormone which a test that he did confirmed. Well so the standard course of treatment then for Hyogonadotropic Hypogonadism is either HCG or Clomid. Dr. Rico seemed to want nothing to do with prescribing these hormones. Also I found out later as I suspected that my Hgh levels were very diminished, and actually got a Growth Hormone Deficiency diagnosis. He could of at least said this is out of my realm of expertise, as I primarily handle diabetics, or basic things like thyroid and prescribing testosterone, but I'll find you someone who can help you with what you're needing. But he did not. Well about a year later the low testosterone and growth hormone levels cracked me, (you don't sleep right with these problems,) not to mention suffer from a host of other nasty symptoms, and it got me suicidal which I had to be hospitalized for. Some years later I finally got on these hormones that I needed, HCG and HGH. A caring female family doctor prescribed them for me. And my symptoms got so much better and my quality of improved. So I'm not for sure what Dr. Rico's problem was with me? But I was very disappointed how he handled things. Some of the specialists around here in this city need to start caring more about their patients, and consider the negative domino effect when they don't do more!
