After these years have passed, I still see Dr. Mullen, as he without doubt one of the best pain management docs I have ever seen, and I have been in pain management for about 14 years. I had a horrible knee injury, 3 knee replacements, 3 fused cervical disks and about 20 orthopedic surgeries (arthritis due to a severe MVA). He is always on time, his office staff (Rick, Libby, Tony, et al) are truly supportive human beings. Dr. Mullen has always been with me. We went the route of reduced pain meds and came across a combination that works for me, does not leave me gorked out and manages pain well. I have a nerve stim that works!! I see him for my epidurals (cervical and lower back) that have always been on target, no real discomfort and provide what relief they can. I feel like “part of the family.” The key to getting through to his office is to press zero, get to the nurse's office (Rick) and I always get a call back. I do understand that sometimes staff is unavailable, or the office closes on Wednesday's as he sees patient in Fallon and closes on Fridays (my experience). I asked about this and discovered that they receive over 300 calls/day. I am close in, so if I need something NOW, I just quickly visit. I am 70 now, and doubt that I would have made it this far without him. Pain can be a depressing thing, it can occupy one's mind, and it can always make its presence known. Although he is busy, he takes the time to listen, his staff takes the time to listen and are really with it, on the ball, no bs. I would go nowhere else, as he is one of the best docs I have had. I like his personality but have never experienced anything like one person described. He runs a tight ship, as opposed to some flaky people who provide pain management treatment. I have received from Tony absolutely the best trigger point injections I have ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Mullen, take his advice, and get on with my life made simpler because of my relationship with him.
