In October I was contacted by Dr. Cunningham’s office saying that I had an upcoming annual checkup. It was scheduled for today, November 5 at 11:15 am. I arrived at the office at 11:00 am so that I could fill out several forms, as they were changing over systems and didn’t have time to update the information themselves. I, along with several other patients, waited way past our appointment times. Finally after 1 pm, my name was called to the desk. I was told that Dr. Cunningham didn’t really need to see me unless I thought something was wrong. I was asked if I had any bloodwork done in the last year, to which I replied “no,” and then she told me that I was free to leave. I waited for 2 hours and was never seen. The staff didn’t seem remorseful at all. In my opinion, I think they realized that they over-scheduled patients for the time that I was scheduled, and since my appointment was not a top priority case, they sent me home. This was not the first time I have had to wait a long period of time to be seen, but it was definitely the first time to wait that long only to be sent away. I’ll be searching for a different doctor to assess my thyroid now.
