Came in after an illness with lingering cardiac symptoms, hoping to rule out organ damage, congenital causes, etc.
Two stars for the offices and my first appointment. Beautiful offices. Dr. Sanai was thoughtful in my first appointment, asking questions and laying out a plan of action. He asked me to take some trend data over the next few days and come back in for an echo.
During the echo, the woman taking the measurements kept sighing and saying she didn't see anything, then asked "why are you even here?" I told her at a high level some of the symptoms I was having and she started insisting I must just have gained weight during the pandemic and that I just needed to work out. "Getting fat will do that to you." I was too stunned to say anything about how unprofessional that was -- and how unqualified she was to talk to me about my results or my condition.
In our appointment, Dr. Sanai confirmed my results were good -- yayyy! -- but also dismissed my concerns about the trend data. Sort of shoved me out the door in less than 5 minutes. I left the office in tears, still too sick to function and, frankly, furious.
I was pretty traumatized by the experience and ended up putting off seeking necessary cardiac care for months. Turns out I have a complex post-viral condition with cardiac implications that requires close watch from a physician.
Cardiocare, please train the staff to mind their business, keep prejudicial thoughts to themselves, and treat patients with care.
