I moved to WV in the end of May 2024. I was proactive with finding specialists and made my appointments with all of them. When I went to the Teay's Valley location for gastroenterology, they REFUSED to prescribe my IBS medication that I had been taking for a few years and said that the dr (in a different office location) does not feel comfortable prescribing it until she "scopes" me. My "scopes" were then scheduled for DECEMBER! I had to ask my PRIMARY dr if she could prescribe it until I had my "scopes" done, which she did. Fast forward to now. I had my "scopes" done on Dec 6th and they sent me a LETTER with my "scheduled follow up visit" for MARCH! I called the office and was able to get it moved up to FEBRUARY but the dr is now saying that she does not feel comfortable prescribing it until she sees me in the office!!! So which is it, after my scope or after my follow up that she will "feel comfortable enough" to write my Rx??????? The follow up appointment is not even scheduled with the dr that "scoped" me, they scheduled it with a Fellow, so I'm not sure that they will even "feel comfortable enough then to prescribe my meds" since it will be a different person seeing me. They suggested that I ask my primary dr to write the Rx for me. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I have NEVER had to go through ANY of this with ANY of my gastroenterologists that I had in previous states.
